Well as you are all probably aware Apple released their new 3.o iPhone software on June 17th. Promising cut & paste, a compass, and global search among other things. According to Apple, one-hundred plus additional features were added. I must admit there are a lot of nice features and I am very happy that such a basic function such as cut & paste was added so by no means will I be complaining the rest of this post. Let’s just think of it as making suggestions from a content point of view. Here are a few things that I notice weren’t a part of the 3.0 upgrade:

1. Sound Customization:

Sure you can purchase a song you have already purchased on iTunes and make it into a ring tone but that can get pricey fast. Where is the custom ring tone feature and why do I have to pay for a song twice to get in into a ring tone? I believe I should be able to convert any of the purchased music on my machine into a custom ring tone. Don’t tell me it’s not possible because I know for a fact it is, because I have done it… 🙂

Also, why is it that I can’t change the alert sound for SMS, e-mail or Calendar events to anything more than the provided with the phone? Comparing to the Blackberry’s settings, I can turn the volume up high and play something obnoxious while I am on-call to ensure I hear the phone. On the iPhone the e-mail notification alert is brief at best, and not customizable. I think that something along those lines could be expected if Apple wants to continue to press the market who is currently using Blackberry’s. Read the entire post…

Over the course of the last few days you all may have seen the Denver Broncos Quarterback Jay Cutler in the news and refusing to communicated with his team because there were rumors that they had listened to trade talk. In Denver he has quickly become the laughing stock of fans, talk radio hosts and news commentators. I was bored the other night and just had to contribute.

Honestly Jay? Chauncey Billups (n MVP of the NBA Finals mind you) was traded this year after spending six years in Detroit and you didn’t hear a peep out of him. Joe Montana was traded to the Chiefs after a hall of fame career in San Fransisco and not even a bad word was uttered. Brett Farve, another hall of famer, while he did get a lot of press coverage never acted even remotely close to the way you have. So my question to Jay Cutler is, who do you think you are?

Since I got off work yesterday two things have happened in the sports world that are making this weekend quite possibly the best weekend I have had in a while!

As some of you know I am a huge sports fan, and more specifically a Nuggets basketball fan as well as a Kansas City Chiefs football fan. Last night the Nuggets managed to hold the first place team in the Western Conference under 80 points. The best part of this is that the Lakers average 109 points a game, which is a huge defensive stance by the Nuggies! This is a good sign from the Nuggets especially because of the recent loss to Boston at home where it would’ve appeared they had no defensive skills at all!

The second piece of good news which I just found out was that the Kansas City Chiefs just signed Mike Vrabel and Matt Cassel from the N.E. Patriots! I guess that puts all the talk of who the starting QB in KC will be this next season to rest, at least for a while. Plus the pickup of Vrabel can’t hurt the defense who is very young and could use the leadership of a vetran linebacker.

These two events along with some personal events that are taking place have combined to make this one sweet weekend for me so far. Right now I am going to step away from the PC and enjoy the nice weather we have here in Denver and possibly go hit some golf balls. Cha!!

Is it just me or do Fridays always turn out to be the busiest day of the week? Three weeks in a row it has been non-stop for at least eight hours and even more on some occasions. I haven’t even had a chance to work on anything I had planned to work on today in lieu of all the issues that have come up, just like last Friday and the Friday before that. The one advantage of this Friday versus the last is that I am not on call this week so once I leave today it is all over until Monday!

I just thought I would share since it seems as though there is some mysterious ether that decides to bring issue to the system on Friday’s. I am sure some of you might find this to be true in your line of work too, but it seems to be more prevalent in the Computer field.

One way to find out would be to forget Friday’s all together and make it US custom to have a 4 day work week, what do you think?

Today is the big day. 4th ranked Oklahoma versus 16th ranked Kansas. They are playing in Norman, Oklahoma and the Sooners are good, but I think everyone is in for a big suprise. They are giving up 20 points to another Big 12 team who is also 5-1? Hello!? These aren’t exactly the Buffaloes we are talking about here people.

I bet you are also wondering what in the hell I am doing up blogging about this at 7:45 in the morning on a Saturday? That is a good question and the answer is I have been up virtually all night. I was awake until about 2am working on assorted things, relaxing, since it was Friday night. It was my own fault staying up that late especially since I am on-call all week. Monday-Thursday were fine, maybe a call here and there but nothing I couldn’t fix relatively quick and be back in bed. Not tonight. The issue at 3am has kept me up since then and it is all I can do to just keep my eyes open.

Anyhow, we will just chalk this post up to the need for a rant and call it even since there really was no content, or knowledge passed along in this post. Aside from all that… Rock Chalk!
